The Black Future Festival takes place from now through the 21st, 10am until 5pm daily! Admission is $15 and the festival is happening at the Children’s Museum on 145 Brooklyn Avenue. The festival is presented by Kendra J Ross and STooPS and features a chance for the whole family to learn about art, dances, music, and more that celebrates Black culture!
African Dancing and Folktales Workshop
You and your family could attend an African Dancing and Folktales Workshop from 11am until 11:45am on Friday, February 20th. Admission is free and the event takes place at the Red Hook Interim Library on 362 Van Brunt Street. The event is for toddlers and their family, and will feature African folktales, a dance workshop, and live percussion music performances!
Life at Sea
To learn all about life at sea, you and your family can attend the Life at Sea drop-in workshop on February 28th from 11am until 5:30pm. Admission is included with Brooklyn Museum admission, and is free for ages 19 and younger. The museum is located at 200 Eastern Parkway. Your family can design new ocean-faring life, from coral to 3D fishing, and learn more about ocean life!
Empire Skate of Mind
Want to go skating with the whole family? Then attend the Empire Skate of Mind on Saturday and Sunday from 10am until 5pm or from Wednesday through Friday from 2pm to 5pm. Admission is $15, skate rentals are $10, and admission is only $8 if you bring your own skates! There will be disco music, and you can skate on the amazing rooftop terrace at the Children’s Museum on 145 Brooklyn Avenue.
