Empire Skate of Mind
Kids can go skating on the Children’s Museum rooftop terrace at 145 Brooklyn Avenue on Saturdays and Sunday from 10am until 5pm, and Wednesday through Fridays from 2pm until 5pm, from now through April 12th. Admission is $15, skate rental is $10, and admission to the skating rink is $8 if you bring your own skates.
Zoomies Comedy Show
Looking for a little comedy? Then check out the Zoomies! A Comedy Show in a cat café on Saturday, February 7th from 7:30pm until 9pm. Admission is $35. The event takes place at Brooklyn Cat Café on 76 Montague Street. All proceeds help keep the nonprofit cat cafe open!
BAM Kids Film Festival
The BAM Kids Film Festival will take place on Saturday, February 7th and Sunday February 8th. Admission is $14 for adults and $10 for kids. This takes place at BAM Rose Cinemas on 30 Lafayette Avenue. This is the film festival’s 28th annual screening, with animated movies, live-action films, and documentary shorts. There are selections for kids ages three to five, six to eight, and kids ages nine and older. There will also be a circus in the lobby, with juggling, physical comedy, and balancing acts.
Lunar New Year at IKEA
On Saturday, February 7th you can celebrate the Lunar New Year at IKEA from 10am until 2pm, and admission is free! From 10am until 11am, there will be a Red Envelope Giveaway, where 50 families will receive a red envelope with gift cards values from $10 to $100. From 10am until noon, kids can partake in a fun craft activity, and enjoy Lunar New Year-inspired IKEA meatballs from 1pm until 2pm. There will also be a Live Lion Dance and a photo station so you can take pictures with your family!
