September is here! Even though fall is around the cover, there are still many fun outdoor activities happening in our community. In today’s blog, Brooklyn Periodontics and Implantology are talking about fun festivals and more happening in our parks and on our streets this weekend.
Calvary & St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church Community Health Fair
Calvary and St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church will be hosting a community health fair on Saturday, September 12th from 9am until 3pm, and the entire event is free! The church is located at 966 Bushwick Avenue and everyone is welcome. There will be health information available, as well as face painting, live music, raffles, refreshments, and tons of games and activities for all ages. There will also be plenty of photo ops, so stop by!
Catch-and-Release Fishing
Are you or one of your little ones interested in fishing? Then join the community for catch-and-release fishing on Saturday, September 12th from 10am until noon. The event is free and takes place at the Brooklyn Bridge Park on Pebble Beach. All equipment is provided and the event lasts about two hours. Each participant can fish for about a half hour, and no experience is needed! Kids can also learn all about the ecology of the East River area. You can register ahead of time or show up the day of.
Play in the Square
Kids of all ages can enjoy Play in the Square on Sunday, September 13th from noon until 3pm. The event is free and takes place on Domino Square on 12 South 3rd Street. From noon until 1pm there will be a bilingual singalong with Lina Sings, and from 2pm to 3pm there will be a Brooklyn-inspired crafting session with Artful Souls and Wellness.
Cupcakes & Crayolas – Meet the Author
MyBKlife is hosting a fun book event at 463 Sterling Place on Sunday, September 13th from noon until 2pm. Entry is free, and books will be available to purchase for $20. There will be free cupcakes, color pages, and all sorts of fun goodies. Kids can also meet and talk to the author!
