Viking Fest 2026
Viking Fest 2026 takes place tomorrow, Staeudya, May 9th from 10am until 5pm. The event is FREE and takes place at Owl’s Head Park on 68th Street and Colonial Road. There is a Viking Village where students can see educational displays and demonstrations, enjoy a scavenger hunt, and see a life-size replica of a viking ship with a full crew! At noon, there will be musical and dance performances. Kids can enjoy tons of games and crafts.
Strength in the City NYC Festival
The Strengthen in the City NYC Festival takes place Saturday, May 9th from 9am until 2pm. Doors open at 8:30am. The event is $39 for admission, but FREE if you have a SweatPals membership. The event takes place on 599 Johnson Avenue in Brooklyn. This wellness community event features over 20 classes, a free 5K run, recovery experiences for everyone to enjoy, and local vendors to shop from.
Bouquet Making
Make your mom a memorable gift with Bouquet Making in Brooklyn on Saturday, May 9th from 4pm until 6pm. This self-led event allows you to make a unique bouquet for your mom, and enjoy two happy hour menu picks from L’wren. You can go solo, or bring your mom or a sibling! The event costs $75 and includes fresh seasonal flowers, a vase, two happy hour menu selections, and all the tools you need to make the bouquet!
Mother’s Day Market
The FAD Mother’s Day Market will take place on Saturday, May 9th from 11am until 6pm. This is FREE and takes place at Empire Stores on 55 Water Street. You can shop from over 35 different independent stores, designers, and artisans. You can find homemade skincare, lotions, tableware, gifts, jewelry, and more. You can make a whole day of it, and treat your mom to some memorable gifts!
