Dental Bridges
A dental bridge can help address minor cases of tooth loss, such as a single missing tooth or as many as two to three in a row. With a traditional option, the prosthetic will contain new teeth with crowns on each end. We would remove structure from the teeth on each side of the gap to accommodate these crowns. We then attach the prosthetic, which can be used for about 10 to 15 years on average.
However, with dental implants we can insert one to two dental implant posts into the jaw. These are free standing and stimulate jawbone growth to prevent loss of mass and density in the jaw. We then attach the crown portions of the prosthetic to these, so you avoid losing natural tooth structure. Your new implant-supported option can last for decades to come, possibly a lifetime!
Partial Dentures
What if you have multiple gaps in your smile and they are spread out from one another? In a case like this, a bridge may not be able to take on your tooth loss alone. In addition, you could have enough natural teeth in place that a full denture is not necessary. But we can help. With a partial denture, we can create a single prosthetic that contains multiple teeth that are designed to fit in these gaps. These teeth are set in a base that looks like gum tissue. When attached, clasps will connect to natural teeth to keep your teeth firmly in place, so you have a full and functional smile again.
