The Little Caribbean Open Streets Takeover starts at noon on Saturday, August 15th and lasts through August 22nd. The event is free and leads you to the West Indian Day Parade. There will be food, live music and DJs, cultural performances and dance workshops, and tons of family-friendly games and activities. This takes place on the WE Plaza on Washington Avenue and Empire Boulevard. Learn about new cultures, and enjoy a day of amazing experiences.
34th Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Competition
The 34th Annual Coney Island Sand Sculpting Competition takes place on August 15th from noon to 4pm and admission is free. You can register for free to take part in the event, or cheer on other sculptors as they craft their creations. This takes place on Coney Island Boardwalk on 1739 Riegelmann Boardwalk. You may be shocked at the incredible art that people can create with a little time and sand!
