Bring your family to the Coney Island free firework show! There will be a special display at 9:45pm on July 4th, but there are also firework shows every Friday around that time through August 28th. The fireworks are launched from the beach around West 12th Street, and you can see them from the beach, boardwalk, or anywhere in the amusement district. Some may want to try and see them from the Deno’s Wonder Wheel!
4th of July Hot Dog Eating Championship
While you and your family are in the area, you can also see the annual Nathan’s Famous Hotdogs’ International Hot Dog Eating Championship, a big event held every year since 1916!
Green-Wood Cemetery Tour
The Green-Wood Cemetery is offering some free and fun events all day on the 4th. You can enjoy a walking tour called Rest In Pace from 10am until 11:30am, a history deep-dive with The Revolution Continues: Brooklyn’s Black Trailblazers trolley tour from 10am until noon. There are also walking tours focused on the Revolutionary War, and more!
Macy’s 4th of July Fireworks Display
For a truly epic fireworks display, Macy’s is holding their 50th annual event, launching from the Brooklyn Bridge starting at 8pm. You can also watch from the comfort of your home via live broadcast on NBC/Peacock.
