Celebrate A New Year In Brooklyn

It’s official, 2025 is here! If you and your family are looking for fun events and activities to ring in the new year with, then we have a few simple suggestions. Lightscape

There is still time to take in the Lightscape at the Brooklyn Botanic Gardens! You can check out this display today and tomorrow, with admission at $25 to $45 for adults, and $12 to $23 for kids. There are millions of lights attached to the landscapes, trees, paths, and more to create one-of-a-kind displays. There is also a sensory-friendly early entry today at 4pm. Lightscape can be found at 1000 Washington Avenue.

ArtRink

You can bring your kids to the ArtRink at the Brooklyn Children’s Museum tomorrow from 10am until 5pm. Admission is $20, $19 for grandparents! Kids can skate on their socks through a synthetic ice rink, which features local art and fun playhouses designed to encourage imaginative play for kids of all ages. The museum is located at 145 Brooklyn Ave.

Tortoise and the Hare

The whole family can enjoy a puppet show of The Tortoise and the Hare from January 4th through the 12th, on Saturday and Sunday at 12:30pm and 2:30pm. This is a shadow, rod and hand puppet show adapted by Nicolas Coppola, and lasts about 55 minutes. This is perfect for kids ages two and older. The show takes place at Puppetworks Inc on 338 Sixth Avenue at 4th Street,

Wake Up and Dance

If you have kids under the age of eight, then bring them to Wake Up And Dance with Suzi Shelton and Amelia Robinson tomorrow at 10am. Admission is $15 to $45 and this early concert features fun songs, dancing, and more. A great way to start the weekend with your little ones! The event takes place at the ShapeShifter Lab on 837 Union Street.
