This venue started off as a place to simply wash and dry your clothes but has evolved into a fun space for the community. The owner of the laundromat and the son of the building’s owner decided to add pinball machines in the laundromat as a way to honor the love of the games and make the space more fun. On weekend afternoons and evenings, you can stop by to play a game or do a load of laundry. This is a great way to socialize, get out of the house, and get some items knocked off of your to do list.
Visit The Brooklyn Museum
Brooklyn is home to one of the largest art museums in the United States. If you haven’t had the chance to explore it yet, or it’s been a while since your last trip, this weekend is a great time to go. Their current Paul McCartney exhibit ends on August 18th, meaning there is just over a week left to check out unseen photos and learn more about the former Beatles member. You can also tour the museum’s many other art exhibitions, displays, and artifacts. This is a great way to get your steps in and escape the heat of summer.
Find Unique Items At The Flea Market
You can end your weekend by visiting the Brooklyn Flea Market to discover new foods, find antique goods, and go vintage shopping. The flea market is open every Saturday and Sunday from ten in the morning to five at night, meaning you will have plenty of time to explore unique booths and meet new people. If you’re looking for more food options or want to discover new stands, be sure to also check out the Smorgasburg at Prospect Park, the World Trade Center, or in Williamsburg. This open event features various vendors selling a variety of coffees, foods, snacks, and more for you to try.
